Product Description
Notes of cherries and plums on the nose with a hint of sage and spices. The mouth is round with a very balanced sweetness, lush with velvety tannins. The finish lingers with notes of dark chocolate, barbecue, spice, and ends very round and broad. The 2015 Forward Kidd Red Wine is a very rich and pleasant wine; very enjoyable to drink.

Winemaking

Selected from multiple vineyard sites throughout the Napa Valley, the winemaking for this blend starts in the soil. Working closely with small, family owned, vineyards each site and varietal were chosen to create the best balance and expression possible in the final wine. In pursuit of this unique style, the composition will change as we create a blend that is medium bodied and well balanced, and most importantly, exemplifies both region and site. The goal is an appealing, fruit forward and food friendly wine with moderate tannins to be enjoyed upon release. Our fruit was handpicked in the early morning, hand sorted and fermented in small 10 ton batches. We chose to ferment at a cool temperature to get the most from the fruit quality for this wine. Gentle pump-overs were done twice a day to get a very smooth and gentle extraction. Total time in tank was 15 days and the wines were pressed in basket press after that and barreled down. We blended the wine in the spring, six months before bottling.
