Product details

Brightlands Shiraz is meticulously handcrafted during outstanding years, skilfully selecting and blending the very best single barrel from each of our two distinct and exceptional McLaren Vale vineyards, Angels Rise and Warboys. Each vineyard produces Shiraz with its own distinguished character, and when harmoniously combined, they give rise to a wine of remarkable intensity, depth, concentration, and ageing potential.

Angels Rise Vineyard is situated at an elevation of 310 metres above sea level in Clarendon, the northernmost and coolest subregion of McLaren Vale. The vineyard’s terrain features moderate to steep slopes facing East, West, and South, with a soil composition primarily consisting of thin layers of clay loam over solid shale stone, interspersed with rocky outcrops. Benefitting from Clarendon’s cooler climate, the Shiraz grapes from this vineyard offer lifted spice, subtle perfume, and notes of ripe berries and cherries, reflecting the unique terroir.

Warboys Vineyard, located in the heart of McLaren Vale’s Seaview subregion, sits just seven kilometres from the Gulf
St Vincent at an altitude of 55 metres above sea level. The vineyard encompasses both North and South-facing slopes, with the former characterised by rich, dense dark loam nurturing old vine Shiraz planted in the early 1900s, while the latter boasts dark loam over limestone, hosting Shiraz vines dating back to the 1960s. Renowned for its classical McLaren Vale characteristics, Warboys Vineyard produces a Shiraz of notable richness, featuring flavours of dark chocolate, ripe plums, and a hint of spice, showcasing its enduring quality and tradition.
