"The 2014 Camensac has a vivid and vivacious bouquet with bright black cherry and boysenberry fruit, a touch of pencil lead developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with thickset tannin, an Haut-Medoc of commendable structure that may well see it aging more slowly than others. I appreciate the fruit concentration here, while it exerts a pleasant grip on the finish. Give it two or three years in bottle just to soften those edges."

History

Château de Camensac 2019 fait jouer la parité cette année en incorporant de façon égale Merlot et Cabernet sauvignon. La robe de ce 5ème cru classé en 1855 (en AOC Haut-Médoc) est grenat et lumineuse. Le nez est net et droit. Avant agitation, on observe des notes d'agrumes confits, de boisé fin et de vanille liées à l'élevage. Après agitation, viennent les arômes de fruits rouges, d'étonnants accents de pierre à fusil, d'épice type poivre. L'attaque est droite. L'équilibre est solide. La bouche a un très joli grain soyeux et serré dans un volume ample et souple. La finale est très longue, enrobée d'une gourmande cerise noire.
