Product Description
Bright red. Sour cherry, flint and botanical herbs on the nose. Juicy, vibrant red fruit flavors are spiced up by hints of pepper and herbs. The finish is long and bright, with mountingly drying tannins. The first vintage of this wine was the 2001 (The vines were planted in 1998). The vinyard is a continuationof the Hengst, and the marl - limestone - sandstone soils are so iron - rich and red you'd think you were standing in Barossa. Aged in 10% new oak only, a good choice as the Hengst gives fairly big, tannic wines on its own.
