Domaine Huet

Founded in 1928, Domaine Huet is known for its benchmark age-worthy Chenin Blanc wines. Victor Huet, a Parisian bistro owner, settled in the Loire Valley after being discharged from World War II. He purchased his first plot of land, Le Haut-Lieu, and with his son Gaston he worked tirelessly to create top-quality wines by Domaine Huet. Gaston took over the estate in 1937, and continued to grow the legacy of the estate. After World War II, Gaston purchased two more vineyards situated on the Premiere Cote, or “first slope.” With three plots on what is considered the appellation’s grand cru vineyards, Domaine Huet established itself as one of the top producers in Vouvray.

Domaine Huet produces Chenin Blanc wines that demonstrate the variety’s true range. With a portfolio of sparkling, dry, semi-dry and dessert styles, the domaine has a white wine for a diverse range of palates. With the help of vineyard manager Jean-Bernard Berthome and vigneron Noel Pinguet, Domaine Huet was an early adopter to biodynamic farming and today continues to create pure, balanced and consistent wines. Today, the estate is owned by Sarah & Hugo Hwang and run by vineyard manager Jean-Bernard Berthome.
