Beautiful sunny red colour, there’s a typically gorgeous roll of fruit while remaining composed and yet open-hearted. Pure with a definite sweet spot. the palate with soft fruit and silky, polished tannins. All the elements are in the right place.

This is a superbly delicate and carefully finessed wine that interprets the growing season with its alternating cold and hot intervals in an impeccable manner. The Bartolo Mascarello 2018 Barolo puts Nebbiolo and the vintage seamlessly together like lock and key. It opens to a beautiful drinking experience. The bouquet shows detail and finely tuned aromas of redcurrant, violet, rusty nail and blood orange. On the palate, this Barolo is so shiny and polished that it feels like silk. Without a doubt, this is one of the top wines of 2018.

An alluring red, with plum and cherry fruit enhanced by woodsy notes and a hint of fresh porcini mushroom. On the elegant side, yet also has a firm underlying structure and sneaky length. Shows terrific harmony with a few hours of aeration (so decant now), yet this should only improve with another 5 to 7 years in the cellar. Best from 2025.

The wine of Bartolo Mascarello is extremely delicate. We carried wines carefully by reefer truck and reefer container as usual. And these bottles took rest for 6 months in our cellar, so wines have been settled down enough. Please enjoy traditional Piemonte wines with perfect condition.
The wine of Bartolo Mascarello is living legend in Barolo. For three generations - Giulio - Bartolo - Maria Teresa - nothing changes in the process of wine making and philosophy. Wines are vinified in Botti(large old barrels of local oak and chestnut) without temperature control, and they never use barriques.
Barolo is made by blending of 4 great vineyards such as Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Rue and Rocche di la Morra(like a Grand Cru in Bourgogne). Freisa and Dolcetto d'Alba are produced by traditional way of "Ripasso" by Nebbiolo(Nebbiolo).
