The Dogliani family has been making wine under the Beni di Batasiolo label since 1978, and while its highly prized Barolo wines are its best known, it has a range of wines that all express the fantastic terroir of the Langhe. Production has been modernized recently but many of the fundamental tasks, including pruning, tying up, thinning out and harvesting, have been left to traditional methods. Beni di Batasiolo is one of the largest privately owned wineries located in the prestigious Langhe-Barolo region of Piedmont. It owns nine of the best vineyards within the region, including five Barolo "cru" vineyards, covering over 130 hectares of vines, 100 of which are planted with the nebbiolo variety used to make Barolo.
