The warm days and cool nights of the Napa Valley in Northern California make it the ideal place to make Bordeaux-style red wines. Although the wines of Bordeaux have historically been considered the best wines of the world, the bolder, richer, and more fruit-forward wines of California are now just as respected.

Label Description

The 2018 ‘Prince Of Music’ Red is a Bordeaux blend Cabernet driven (over 72%). The remaining is mostly Merlot (25%) and fractions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that impart freshness and color in the blend, The wine is aged in 19 months in oak (new and used). An example of full-body Napa red; Approachable in youth yet with good aging potential.

Testing Notes

Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes bounding out of the glass with notes of black plum preserves, Morello cherries, black raspberries and redcurrant jelly with suggestions of cedar chest, menthol, pencil lead and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has great intensity with a real skip in its step, featuring bold, crunchy fruit and rounded tannins with seamless freshness and a fragrant finish.
