Eric Rodez, is the 8th generation in his family to produce Champagne, and he has been making Champagne under his own name since 1984. Before working as a Recolte-Manipulant (RM), he first gathered experience in Burgundy and as a cellar master for Krug, where he was responsible for that house's esteemed Grand Cuvée. This period laid the cornerstone for the elements that make his champagne exceptional today: an almost unparalleled mastery of the intricacies of assemblage.
Beyond his technical skills, he is also a man wholeheartedly devoted to his region, working tirelessly to promote the image and quality of winemaking in Champagne. And if that isn't enough, he's also mayor of Ambonnay.
Eric Rodez Description
Brut Champagne made only from Pinot Noir. From a terroir that express power and length. This champagne uses 70% of wine with no malolactic fermentation. As with blanc de blancs, this blanc de noirs is made from 5 to 6 vintages vinified 70% in small barrels.
This champagne has a sustained gold color. The powerful nose is marked by red fruits with hints of dried fruit and candied fruit. The palate is powerful and muscular all in balance with freshness.
