Product details

Château Croizet-Bages, like many other Pauillac, is located on the famous Bages plateau. In 1853, two years before the famous 1855 classification, Château Croizet-Bages became the property of the Calvé family, leading to a slight change in the name, to Château Calvé Croizet-Bages, which the property kept until 1934. It was then that Paul Quié acquired the château, which has since remained in the same family. The vineyard went through a long restructuring phase that lasted about 20 years. Up until the harvest in 1986, there was just one old concrete vat. Since then a new winery has been built in order to improve the quality of the vinification process. Twenty year-old vines and traditional vinification enable the production of a fruity, rounded, easy-to-drink wine. Paul Quié's descendants also own Château Rauzan-Gassies, a second growth in Margaux, and Château Bel-Orme-Tronquoy-de-Lalande.
