A Saint-Julien countercurrent, produced by the team of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, prestigious Cru Classé of Saint-Julien . With Le Petit Caillou, Bruno Borie declines his legendary wine in a vintage accessible from his earliest youth, coming from vineyards located on the western part of the Saint-Julien appellation . Blend of cabernet-sauvignon (50%), merlot (40%) and cabernet franc , matured in barrels with a third of new wood, Le Petit Caillou offers elegant aromas of black fruits, tobacco and cedar with tannins sweet.

Le Petit Caillou is not exactly a second wine - La Croix de Beaucaillou fulfills this role. It is more of a special cuvée made from parcels decommissioned in the vineyard of the castle Ducru-Beaucaillou. We are no longer in a Classified Growth but simply in the Saint-Julien appellation, always with a magnificent terroir of gravel that looks at the estuary of the Gironde, this gigantic air conditioner that tempers the local heat. 3 grape varieties are present: a large half of cabernet sauvignon, a small half of merlot and the rest in cabernet franc. The grape harvests are manual for a winemaking in vats and a rearing in barrels with little new wood. The result is a very pleasant wine to discover Saint-Julien, with a dense and elegant material, And a nose over the flowers and red fruits. It is to drink within 6 or 7 years.
