This small 7-hectares vineyard is located in Saint-Sulpice Falleyrens, 3 km south of the village of Saint-Émilion. Since 1997 Château Les Cabannes belongs to Peter Kjellberg, a native of Toronto. First Canadian oenologist to have graduated from the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology in 1989, he began working at the prestigious Château Haut-Brion, before acquiring his own domaine in Saint-Émilion. The vineyard of Château Les Cabannes was replanted almost in its entirety to optimize the quality of the production.
With only 7500 bottles produced each year, the wines of Château Les Cabannes are made mostly from Merlot (70%), and Cabernet Franc. With soft and ripe tannins, they offer generous aromas of plum, cherry, roasted coffee and undergrowth.
