"Here is the best Larcis Ducasse since Jacques-Olivier Gratiot entrusted the reins of the property in tandem Stéphane Derenoncourt-Nicolas Thienpont in 2002. I had a real heart for this wine announced by a beautiful dark garnet color. The nose is complex, elegant, combining notes of black fruit, violets with a mineral side and peppered. The so-called “dream team” of Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt has again turned out a beautiful wine from a blend of 78% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. The aromatic’s nobility and complexity confirm this vineyard’s potential. Aromas of cedar, spice box, black cherries, currants, and licorice jump from the glass of the dense ruby/purple-hued 2004. With supple texture, sweet tannin, medium to full body, and no hard edges, this beauty will drink well for 12-15+ years.
