Domaine Joseph Roty has one of the largest cult followings of any small Burgundian grower, and has produced some of the region’s most exquisite wines for many years. Twelve generations on from 1710 the domaine is now run by Pierre-Jean, following the tragic passing of his brother Philippe. Philippe was a tremendous vigneron and had taken over the mantle of his celebrated father Joseph, instituting little changes that meant the domaine looked to the future with confidence; now it is up to Pierre-Jean to do the same, and he is doing so admirably.

Testing Nose

Mild wood influence frames very fresh red and blue pinot fruit, earth and mineral-infused aromas that are very Gevrey in character that give way to voluminous and cool middle weight flavors that . possess fine dry extract that imparts a lovely sense of volume as well as buffers the moderately firm tannins on the persistent and toasty finish.
