Product details
Ottosoldi Barbera del Monferrato DOC
Stefano and Massimo Moccagatta have made Gavi a way of life and source for inspiration. Their claim to fame as a champion for the Cortese grape has led them to create a new project to reestablish Gavi as one of the world's great white wines. They created 'Ottosoldi' as a niche brand that ties together tradition, terroir, and the production of quality wine. Their grandfather, who purchased the small plot of land they now cultivate to make this very wine, referred to the land as 'Otto soldi' (eight coins), the expression signifying that it was worth a fortune. In honor of his story, they named their flagship Gavi "ottosoldi.” 2013 is the second release of their Barbera wine, and it is a beauty!
