San Polo
In the era of the Green Economy, San Polo is one of the most innovative and experimental wineries in Montalcino, founded on principles of eco-sustainability, green architecture and social responsibility. The winery at Podernovi, built mostly underground, fits seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, and uses a sophisticated thermo-hydraulic system which ensures that the temperature and humidity of the winery are controlled in a natural way. in 2013 San Polo received CasaClima Wine certication, a seal of quality established to quantify and communicate the efforts of wineries towards greater sustainability. Organic viticultural protocols have been in use since 2014, and in 2017, San Polo obtained official organic viticulture certification.
