Winemaking
Crushed and macerated for about 15 days in stain-less steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine is aged for 4 years. 3 years in oak casks of different origin and sizes, then rests in the bottle for 8 months

Aromas of underbrush, camphor and dark spice shape the nose along with a whiff of blue flower. The firmly structured, medium-bodied palate offers dried black cherry, star anise, clove and tobacco framed in tight, close-grained tannins. Drink 2023–2030.

The Travaglini 2015 Gattinara Riserva is showing beautifully right now, thanks to its aromatic depth and intensity and the silky impression it leaves on the palate. The wine is so true to Nebbiolo, with wild cherry and plum backed by tar, spice and powdered licorice. It also remains truthful to the vintage with a joyous and fruit-filled exuberance. If you are new to the Gattinara appellation and you love Nebbiolo, you would do well to try this wine (in its trademarked asymmetrical bottle).
