VILLA GIRARDI
Villa Girardi is a family-owned winery established in 1986. Located in the valley that joins San Pietro in Cariano and Fumane, it is a part of the historical classic Valpolicella wine region northwest of Verona.
Valpolicella is a viticultural zone of the province of Verona, Italy, east of Lake Garda. The hilly agricultural and marble-quarrying region of small holdings north of the Adige is famous for wine production. The estate is a typical Venetian villa dating back to the end of the 1700’s, designed by the architect Luigi Trezza and set in a large park with century-old trees and shrubs. It is surrounded by 30 hectares of vineyards , all belonging to the property itself. The land is made of limestone and the climate is mild, both necessary conditions to grow the following local grape varieties: Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara.
The “Bure Alto” vineyard is located on a hill where the grapes for the production of the most historical and typical wines of the region, namely Valpolicella Classico, the Amarone, and the Recioto, are cultivated.
