Magenta in colour with purple hues, the Yalumba Organic Shiraz 2011 is bursting with varietal aromas of plums and violets, sweet fruit with a forest floor finish. On the palate the aromas continue through to the palate with plums and violets joined by peppercorns and spice. This is a fruit driven, medium bodied wine with fine, soft tannins and a savoury, persistent finish.

Winemaking / Viticulture
Made with organic winemaking techniques with very little winemaking intervention. The grapes for this wine were sourced from four family owned vineyards that are organically certified. The Barich family vineyard is located on the Murray River at Loxton, The Palena family vineyard lies near Barmera, the Strachan family vineyard sits in the Sellicks foothills subregion of McLaren Vale, and the Carypidis family of Virginia are in the Adelaide Plains.
Vintage Conditions
After years of drought, the weather changed this vintage and South Australia experienced a cool and wet season that was a challenge for all. Through meticulous care in the vineyards and without compromising their organic principles, our organic Shiraz growers again produced grapes that had great flavours.
