Winery Information
Until 1710, Bastor Lamontagne was owned by the King of France. The prestigious appellation of Sauternes sometimes disconcerted consumers who are worried to find too rich and complex wines. With this in mind, Michel Garat, director of the Chateau has developed this beautiful Caprice. Located near the famous Sauternes Chateau Suduiraut, this Chateau has a beautiful terroir that allows it to produce a remarkable wine.
Testing Nose
A respectable bouquet with well-defined, cedar-tinged red and black fruit, with pencil box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, quite lively in the mouth with fine tension. It merges into more black, dusky fruit towards the finish, the persistence commendable. This discrete Saint Julien is very well crafted and should give much pleasure over the next decade.
