Product details
Named after Robert de Ferran who was solicitor at the Bordeaux Parliament, Chateau Ferran was once owned by Montesquieu, man of letters and philosopher of the Age of Enlightment. It is now owned by the Beraud-Sudreau family for the fifth generation. The estate’s limestont, clay and gravel sols are planted with merlot & cabernet sauvignon for red while the white vineyard are planted with semilion and sauvignon with vines averaging around 20 years of age. Fermentation in barrel after cold-skin maceration, the wine is then matured in oak barrels with stirring of the lees and bentonite fined before filtration and bottling. Dennis Dubourdieu and Christophe Olivier are the consultant oenologist working alongside Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste who have been managing the estate since 1999.
