Vivid red. Intense red fruit and floral scents are complicated by suggestions of allspice, smoky minerals and garrigue. Vibrant raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show superb clarity and very good depth, picking up a bit of lavender pastille and an exotic blood orange nuance with aeration. Juicy acidity adds spine and lift; fine-grained tannins shape a strikingly long, focused finish that leaves behind sweet floral pastille and red berry notes

We have thirteen plots of land scattered in different parts of the designated Chateauneuf du Pape area, with an average age of 50 years. The grapes are harvested by maturity, which varies from one area to another within the Domaine. Harvesting is only done manually, and the grapes are sorted out directly in the vineyard. We bring the harvest back to the winery right after harvesting, in crates weighing approximately 50kg (110 pounds). Upon arrival, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and cooled off for prefermentation maceration. During alcoholic fermentation, we closely monitor the temperature, pumping over daily. Maceration lasts 2 to 3 weeks. After the malolactic fermentation, the wines are drained and transferred into concrete vats and in some 350L casks (77 gallons) for ageing. Vat maturing lasts approximately 18 months. Generally, the proportion is 80% Grenache, 10% mourvedre, 7% syrah and 3% cinsault, but it may vary slightly from one year to another.
