An unexpected and surprising nose of red and yellow cherries, with sweet red grapefruit, mineral elements and notes of raspberry. Sweet fruit in a lighter structure and medium palate weight defined by the bright acids. Ripe tannins frame the very pure fruit – this is an elegant, easy-drinking wine, but still complex. Nice lingering finish. Delicious, with sauvage notes at the end. It is a completely different and unique style of Nebbiolo.

The 2013 Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore delivers many unexpected surprises. There is nothing standardized or predictable here. Instead, this fresh Nebbiolo is teaming with energy and verve that peels back with menthol layers, herbs, licorice and wild berry. Blue flowers and moist earth fill in the rear. One year of tonneaux has imparted accents of cinnamon and dark spice.

Technical datas
From the climatic point of view, 2008 took us back to the Seventies with very rainy spring and summer which made the management of the vineyards decidedly difficult. Only thanks to the generous months of August, September and October the grapes were able to complete the ripening process in the best manner. The vintage 2008 undoubtedly rewarded the zones best suited to the cultivation of vines, and particularly those who invested in meticulous vine cultivation operations just at the right time.
