Traditionally a Gamekeeper was employed to protect country estate lands and manage the habitat to suit game. The St. Hallett Gamekeeper’s Shiraz is named in honour of these custodians of the land-we are just as dedicated to the Barossa region- as well as the fine ‘game’ often suited to our Barossa reds. The Barossa has become synonymous around the world with ‘great Shiraz’. Our focus each vintage is to produce over one hundred individual parcels of Barossa Shiraz which are then blended to craft individual expressions of this iconic regional variety.

The style of this wine is all about exploring the lushness of Shiraz; juicy plum and cherry flavours combine with a dark chocolate and vanilla framework to create a full bodied but soft, cascading Barossa Shiraz experience. Don’t be shy with food matching, while a great steak will always work, anything char grilled and full flavoured is an ideal match too. We’re sure you’ll enjoy this Barossa Shiraz nearly as much as we do making it!
