As we’ve known that Brunello di Montalcino is some kind of red wineaged longer than any other Tuscan wine before it is released, for a minimum of four years. For Rosso di Montalcino, It requires only one year of aging before it can be released, which gives producers something to sell as they await the Brunello.
How about its characteristics?
Like Brunello di Montalcino is required to be 100% Sangiovese. At the same times, it can be easier to drink and more than Brunellos, which generally requires some aging. It most likely will be less tannic, fruitier, lighter and less concentrated. The price is cheaper ($20-30) than Brunellos (~$100+), its taste does not have the depth of Brunello, but they can be delicious everyday reds.
It is versatile with food as Italian dishes, naturally, especially with cooked tomato sauce, sausages, beef and roast chicken.
